Nov. 11, 1959 - MELISSA FROM PITTSBURGH VISITS THE MANSION HOUSE GIFT TO THE LORD MAYOR. Melissa Hickes and her parents - and twin sister Rebecca called on the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House this morning. Their visit to London is part of Melissa's prize for winning the essay competition organized by the Pittsburgh Progress Project - which is the building of an auditorium to seat 14, 000 - and having the largest retractable roof in the world. Title of the essay was How famous domes throughout the world are symbols of man's progress'. They have so far visited Mr. Kruschev in Moscow - Pope John in Rome - as part of the 16, 000 mile tour.
