Peter A. Derow joined Newsweek in 1, 55 as a Management Trainee. In 1966 he became Assistant to the President and a year later was promoted to C:fronlatlell Director of the magazine's Intemational edition. In 1958 Mr. Derow was named Marketing Director of Newsweek International a. in 1969 was appointed the edition's Managing Director and a Vice :resident of Newsweek, Inc. A native of Boston, Derow was graduated Cum Laude from Harvard Coliege and with distinction from the university's Graduate School of Business Administration. Before joining Newsweek, Derow was Assistant to the Managing Director of the Economist Newspaper, Ltd. in London and later a consultant to the paper. At Harvard, he was business manager of the Harvard Crimson. Mr. Derow is co-author of Suc, essful Publishing on t. Campus (Newsweek, 196e), a management casebook for Me business managers of college newspapers. Mr. Derow is married, has three children and lives in Cssining, New York
