Feb. 28 Opening of Fleet Street Secrets Case: Summonses under the Official Secret Act against the Sunday Telegraph, its editor, a colonel and a journalist, were being held today at Guildhall. The Summonses arise from an article in the Sunday Telegraph about the Nigerian Civil War. The Summonses against the Sunday Telegraph and its editor, Mr. Brian Roberts, allege that they received information contrary to section 2 (2) of the 1911 Act. Colonel Douglas Jeffrey Cairna, 56, Britain senior observer sent to the Nigerian War, was appearing on a summons alleging communication of information, and Jonathan Aiken, 27 prospective Conservative candidate for Thirek, was appearing on a summons alleging.
