Mar. 03, 1970 - Fleet Street secrets case: Tory Candidate and an editor are accused: Summonses under the Official Secrets Act have been served on a Tory candidate, a Fleet Street Sunday newspaper and its editor. The candidate is Mr. Jonathan Aitken, who will be fighting the Thirsk sent. The paper is the Sunday Telegraph, and the editor is Mr. Brian Roberts, of the Sunday Telegraph. It is believed that a further summons is to be issued. The summonses, under action 2(2) of the Act, and returnable on April 22, have been issued in connection with an article which appeared in the Sunday Telegraph on January 11 this year. It gave details of a confidential report on the prospects in the Nigerian civil war. Photo shows Mr. Brian Roberts, Editor of the Sunday Telegraph
