Aug. 08, 1970 - Goethe-prize 1970: This year's Goethe-Prize of the city of Frankfurt, w.Germany has been awarded to the 85-year-old Marxist literary historian and sociologist Gerog Lukaos (photo) from Budapest, Hungary. But Mr. Lukacs will not take part in the ceremony to take place on august 28th. 1970, in the Frankfurt st. Paul's cathedral in his honour. He has declined his taking part for reasons of health. The ceremony will take place anyway and it is expected that the Hungarian philosopher will send a representative. the Goethe-prize is endowed with 50.000 D-marks
