Dec. 12, 1977 - Author Heinrich Boell Becomes 60; On December 21st, 1977 Heinrich Boell (picture) celebrates his 60th birthday. Heinrich Boell was born in Vologne (FRG), - and there he lives still today, About 30 years ago his first works were published. He first wrote novels and tales descriptions and mental war period, realistic descriptions of mental and material trouble and later he criticized the grievances of the western society. Some of his most known works: Haus ohne Hueter (House without warden), Ansichten eines Clowns (Opinions of a clown). Billianrd um halb zehn (Billiards at half past nine), Gruppenbild mit Dame (Group-piece with a lady) and many more, also essays, radio plays, dramas. Heinrich Boell was president of the German Pen Center of the FRG from 1970/72 and of the International Pen-club from 1971 - 74/ In 1972 the Literature-Nobel-Prize was awarded to him
