Jan. 01, 1978 - Editor Arrives At Gatwick With His Family: Mr. Donald Woods, banned former editor of the South African newspaper the East London Daily Desptach, arrived at Gatwick airport today with his wife Wendy and their five children. Mr.Woods fla South Africa to escape the banning order. They used a 10-seater aircraft to fly from Lesotho to Botswana, flying over South African airspace. An official of the Lesotho foreign ministry was also on the plane to guarantee their safety. After they arrived they attended a press conference at the airport.
