Jan. 01, 1978 - Banned Editor arrives at Gatwick with his family: Mr. Donald Woods, banned former editor of the South African newspaper the East London Daily Despatch, arrived at Gatwick airport today with his wife Wendy and their five children. Mr. Woods fled South Africa to escape the banning order. They used a 10 seater aircraft airspace. Lesotho to Botswana, flying over South African airspace. An official of the Lesotho foreign ministry was also on the plane to guarantee their safety. After they arrived the attended a press conference at the airport.
