Jul. 07, 1977 - 75th Birthday of Gunther Weisenborn; 75 years ago, on July 10th 1977, the well known German author Gunther Weisenborn (Gunther Weisenborn - our picture) was born in Verlbert/Rheinland. The author of subjects criticizing time and society, whom first novel U-Boot S4 was published in 1928, had been living in the United States for years before he went back to Germany and joined the resistance movement, for which suffered 3 years penal servitude from 1942 to 1945.
