Sep. 25, 1977 - 75th Birthday of Ernst Von Solomon: 75 years ago, on September 25th, 1902, the author Ernst Von Solomon (our picture) was born in Kiel (FRG). From 1919 until 1921 he took part at the fights of the volunteer corps in the Baltic provinces, in Upper Silesia and the putsch against Kapp in 1920. Because of his participation at the attempted assassination of Rathenau he had to serve a sentence of several years penal servitude. An report of his events gave Ernst von Solomon in his book Die Geachteten (The outlaws), published in 1933; followed by Der Fragebogen (The questionnaire) in 1952, his second autobiographic story written with irony and sarcasm. Die Kadetten (The cadets) (1933), Die schone Wilhelmine (The beautiful Wilhelmina) (1965) and Der tote Preube (The dead Prussian) (1973) are the titles of his further well known stories; beside that the author also wrote film scripts. Ernst von Solomon died on August 9th. 1972 in Winsen/Luhe (FRG)
