1955 - Baby Heather gets her first Perm Curly Head after the ordeal: Heather Tully walked into a beauty salon at Westlea, New Seaham, Co. Durham yesterday clutching her mothers hand and settled down to her first Permanent Wave. Hairdresser Pat Gilchrist said that the perm took almost an hour and Heather who is only twenty months old was as good as gold in fact the perfect customer no complaints. Her mother Mrs. Nora Tully, wife of a garage mechanic says that as Heathers hair is straight she will have a perm at least once a year.
