Oct. 25, 1956 - 25-10-56 Four year old girl misses death by inches Four year old Judith Hood was asleep in the bridge house cabin of the 8, 000 ton Danish freighter, Nordvest. In the Thames, off Blackwell Point, the ship came into collision with the British cargo vessel, Benmardhvi (7, 845 tons), and the bow swept away the wing of the bridge, right next to her cabin. Photo Shows: Mr. David Hood, an employee of the United Africa Company, holds Judith in this picture taken beside her cabin in West India Dock today. Her mother and sister were also on the voyage
