Babies - Children - Multiple Births

Oct. 10, 1957 - Baby Hughie - The Little Marvel. When 12-months old Hugh Johnston arrived at St. Pancras in the Tilbury boat-train, his first request was for - Beer'. His father, 34-year-old Mr. John Johnston said: he's already had a small glass of stout and a plate of egg and bacon for breakfast'. Mr. Johnston went on; He is a fantastic child. He never went through the crawling stage; he just got up and walked. Now he can lift furniture, climb-stairs or anything else, and likes to sit on my knees and steer when I'm driving our Jeep, he eats almost the same as we do'. Mr. Johnston, who works for an oil company in Port Moresby, New Guinea, has brought his wife and Hugh for a holiday with relatives. Little Hugh weighs 2½ stone.
