Nov. 01, 1958 - Boy's Firework blows up street: Chelsea had it's biggest bang for years yesterday, when nine-year old Kenneth Whittington popped a firework into a lamp standard, in Bournestreet. The firework ignited an underground gas leak and: Two hundred girls were evacuated from a school. A girl was injured and taken to hospital; Four manhole covers were blown up and thirty yards of pavement was cracked open.
