Jul. 07, 1959 - Putney's Bomb a Exploded.: Bomb disposal men worked through the night to steam away some of the explosive before exploding the 500 lb, bomb which was discovered by council workmen repairing Bendemeer-road, Putney yesterday, The bomb was booby-trapped and very dangerous, and had been dropped during a 1940 air raid. Families in the had been evacuated and when the bomb was exploded at dawn today, windows were shattered and holes blown in the roofs of houses. Photo shows Two little children look into a bake's shop which had it's window shattered and walls cracked by the explosion
