Sep. 09, 1959 - Margaret - Thirteen Years Old Starts Her New Life. Thirteen year old Margaret Saunders started a new life today when she went to the Barclay Secondary Modern School at Stevenage - knowing that for the first time she would be able to work - skip dance and play - just like the other pupils. Margaret has completely recovered from a hole in the heart operation earlier this summer.. Her father had the same operation in 1956 - so they are the first known case of a hole in the heart being found in parent and child.
