Feb. 26 Adventure for the youngsters. Ancient ice-well discovered at Housing site excavations: An interesting discovery was made recently during housing excavations on a new site at Cumberland Market, London, N.W. It is in the form of an ice-well believed to be 150 years old and it was found partly covered by a road and by a house. The well is 85 ft. deep and 35 feet wide. It is thought that it was used commercially and filled with ice from Scandinavia for use during the summer time.
