Feb. 29 Polonezkoy, Poland-In-Turkey': The brothers Dohoda of Polonezkoy. When 19th century Polish gentry, among them the ancestors of the brothers Dohoda, formed legions of Poles in exile to throw off the chains of Tsarist tyranny, many joined the magnificently-uniformed division of Ottoman Cossacks of the Polish pasha, General Melmet Sadik Pasha Czajkowski who led his Poles under the aegis of the Sultan. At Polonezky the emigre Poles recreated the Polish countryside they had left behind them in far away Europe
