Apr. 05 Nursery For The Children Of Mothers Working At Thames-Side Store: Children of employees of a large Thames-side store can spend their days close to their working mothers-and being looked after by trained nurses and children's experts. They are brought in the morning, medically examined rested, fed, exercised amused and trained-all for a minimal 13/6d. a week, until their mothers collect them in the evening at closing time. They are on hand if needed in an emergency during the day. The idea started during the war to enable mothers to carry on work and not to worry too much about their offspring during raids.
