Babies - Children - Multiple Births

May 05, 1960 - Mother Gives Away Her Eleven Day Old Baby. To Be Adopted By Wife From The United States.. Mrs. Yvonne Moore left the Sussex Maternity Hospital - Brighton - with her eleven day old son - and half an hour later she gave the baby to Mr. Gladys Simon (38) who had flown from New York to adopt him. The baby was born by Caesarean birth - Mr. Moore refused to feed him - and said she wanted nothing whatever to do with the baby. She handed over the child to Mrs. Simon and said that the latter would not see her again - ever. Mrs. Moore's husband is 41 year old bus driver Leo. Mrs. Simon will stay in this country for six months in order to adopt the baby legally. Her husband is a Government Official in New York. Keystone Photo Shows:- Mrs. Gladys Simon holds the baby (who will be named Francis) - for the first time - watched by her six year old adopted daughter Janet - with on left Mrs. Simon's sister (Mrs. Ada Waldron) and seated Mrs. Yvonne Moore and her husband Leo. (Mrs. Simon was a G.I. bride)
