Sep. 09, 1966 - Lord Angus To Fight Baby Claim: Lord Angus Montagu prepared last night to fight an allegation that he is the father of a baby left in a London restaurant. While solicitors acting for Lord Angus, 27-year old son of the Duke of Manchester, received an affiliation summons, the five-months old blue-eyed baby slept in a Greater London Council nursery. The baby was left in Quaglino's Restaurant, Bury Street, Westminster, on Monday evening. A spokesman for the solicitors, Light and Fulton, of John Street, Bedford Row, London, said: The case will be heard at Chelsea Domestic Court on October 11 and we have instructions to oppose the application. Earlier, Mr. David Jacobs, solicitor acting for the child's mother - an Australian - had appealed for Lord Angus Montagu to contact him. Diners at Quaglino's, one of London's best-known restaurants, saw a man aged between 35 and 40 walk in on Monday night holding a white carrying cot. The baby was wearing a white matinee coat, white dress and bootees with pink ribbon. He was covered by two blankets - one white, the other blue. The man left the child and with it a letter addressed to the Duke of Manchester. Police were called and the baby was later taken to a GLC nursery in Dolamers Terrace, Paddington. Lord Angus returned to Britain earlier this year after six years in Australia.
