Sep. 29, 1966 - President Johnson ends ban on baby.: President Johnson has signed a special bill to allow an 18-month-old baby to enter the U.S. The baby, Irene has Greek parents, but was adopted by 32 -year old American Air Force Staff's Sergeant Bob Synder when he was stationed in Athens. She was given a copy of A Bill for the relief of Irene Snyder which will make the baby exempt from the immigration law.
