Feb. 25, 1969 - She Gambled With Her Life For A Baby: Two - months old Steven Sheard is the prise of lifetime for this mother, 28-year old Mrs. Evelyn Sheard. for when Mrs. Sheard decided to have a baby she was gambling with her own life. Three years ago Mrs. Sheard, of workington (Cumberland) had the artic valve in her heart replaced in a serious operation at the Hammer smith Hospital in London. After the operation surgeons pointed out the grave risk I would be talking i I had any children, partly because of the drugs I have to take said Mrs. Sheard.
