Oct. 10, 1977 - Provo Killers fire on Victim's baby: A toy frog with two bullet holes ripped through its stuffing bore mute witness last night to a three year old Cristal Hest who escaped from death at the hands of two provisional IRA killers who had just killed her mother in a burst of gunfire. Cristal was asleep in her cot in a caravan beside her grandparents cottage near the Ulster border with Eire when the gunmen smashed down the door and shot 24 year old Margaret Hearst in her bunk. Then as the child woke screaming the killers sprayed a burst of fire through a partition towards her before fleeing. The bullets missed her, but two hit her pet frog Kermit of the Muppets. When relative found her a few moments later, she was hugging him. Her mother died because she was a part time member of the Ulster Defence Force. She is the third woman member of the Greenfinches as they are known to be murdered by the Provisionals. The attack too place at Tynan, near Middleto Co Armagh.
