Jan. 23, 1981 - Five year old Samantha Brown is top winner in Christmas Stamp design; Children aged between five and sixteen have produced the designs that will appear on five hundred million Christmas stamps and official Post Office Christmas first day cover for 1981. More than 74, 000 children took up the challenge when Blue Peter announced its Christmas Stamp competition at the beginning of this month. It was split into three groups, the Uner 7's, the 8's, 9's an 10 year olds and the 11 to 16 year old.
