Feb. 02, 1953 - Cake and Ale ceremony at Stationer's Hall traditional distribution.: The three hundred and forty one year old ceremony of Cake and Ale Distribution at Stationer's Hall, was carried out again today - Ash Wednesday. Hundreds of Liverymen of the Stationer's Company and the Newspaper Makers Company filed into the hall to receive the traditional ale and cake.
