Oct. 10, 1959 - Ancient food tested at research station - 4, 000 years old found in Jericho Tomb; Food excavated by the British School of Archeology in Jerusalem - from a tomb in the world's oldest town Jericho - has been tested at the Food Research Association. Leatherhead and is estimated to be about 4, 000 years old. As the food has been subject to the normal atmospheric conditions in the tomb it is being investigated to find what caused it to be in such a surprising state of preservation.
