1963 - The Vicar Delivers the Milk; When milkman David Barker went to see his Vicar the Reverend Ross Sage, at Puckeridge in Herfordshire, to make arrangements for his wedding at Mr. Sage's church, the vicar found that the milkman would not be able to go away on honeymoon because there was nobody to take over his milk round. The 61 year old vicar promptly volunteered to take it over for him, and sure enough, yesterday morning the vicar was up at 5 am and after a quick breakfast he went.to the dairy with his wife and 20 year old son Michael, where they loaded the trolley with 700 plate of milk and carried out the morning delivery in the pouring rain.
