Baking - Butchers - Cooking - Drink - Food
1963 - Designed by Sir Hugh Casson, the Grand Ballroom of the London Hilton can seat 1, 000 people comfortably for a banquet, or 800 for a dinner-dance. The room, which is 126'x 80 can be divided into three separate rooms. Closely spaced rafters finished in a bronze colour across the ceiling conceal the various special lighting effects. The vynide faced walls are in white with a gold and grey stencil relief pattern. A principal decorative feature is ten chandeliers - each a group of different sized globes. Predominant colours in the carpet are rich reds and orange. The chairs are white vinyl with an aluminium frame for easy stacking
