Baking - Butchers - Cooking - Drink - Food
Nov. 11, 1965 - Intense Activity: rules in the bakeries of the Rhineland and Westfalia, for there must be enough Weckmanner -also called Stutenkerle'- at hand on 11th November, the St. Martin's Day. According to very old customs these Men, made of sweet leaven, with a more than big potter's earth pipe, are presented to the children on St. Martin's Day. The donors are mainly business-men and St. Martin's unions, who send a St. Martin into the surrounding schools. Photo shows The production of the Weckmanner in a bakery in Cologne
