Nov. 19, 1968 - The Samuel Pepys - New ?75, 000 River Side Pub Is Opened In London. The Samuel Pepys, the new river side pub, converted from an old warehouse off Upper Thames Street at a cost of ?75, 000, was opened today by Charrington's. Quotations from Samuel Pepys diary can be seen in the restaurant, where tables in alcoves are named after his amorous adventures on the And So To Bed theme.
