It is unusual for Sadler's Wells to recruit a solo dancer from outside its own organisation, but Dame Ninette de Valois has broken her unwritten rule by signing up 25 year old Sonya Hana, the half Japanese dancer who appeared as the Siamese cat in the ballet Orlando at the Battersea Pleasure Gardens during Festival Year.
