Jan. 11, 1955 - Wives Rehearse Their Circus In Mime Programme for T.V: Sixteen chipstead housewives were to be seen at Lime Grove Studios this morning rehearsing their Circus in Mime programme - which is to be presented in the Leisure and Pleasure programme on T.V. this afternoon.The Housewives originally produced the Circus in Mime to entertain their friends and at the women's Institute three years ago. They have already given their show at Church socials - village fetes etc.but this is the first time they have appeared on T.V. Photo Shows The Clowns - as portrayed by six of the housewives - during the rehearsal today.They are L-R :- Mrs.Cooper; Mrs.Waggis; Mrs.Wright; with front L-R :- Mrs.Poulden; Miss Rhys Davids and Mrs.Fricker
