Feb. 25 Magical Clown Marzipan Delights The Children of Hamburg. Marzipan is the stage name of Hamburg's first magical clown Frank Muller. He was born in South Africa and came to West Germany seven years ago. Since he could not find a job, he started working as a golf teacher in Hamburg. After a skiing accident however, he had to give it up. But he felt not very sorry about that, since he had always wanted to work with children. In the beginning he led a kindergarten but now he goes from school to school, delighting the children with his funny motions and magic tricks, giving the children also an idea of what racial segregation means. However, Marzipan has some troubles with authorities. He will only get his residence permit prolonged, when he does not take away a job from a German and when he can prove that he can earn himself a living as a clown
