Apr. 17 Mary's Circus Is Back In Town Chipperfield's is for millions synonymous with Circus, but Mary Chipperfields Circus is quite distinct and separate from her uncle Dick's circus - the one that most of us associate the name with. The confusion has in fact led to a serious family rift, and Mary had to suspend circus activities two years ago, but now she is back again - the call of the Ring is irresistible to a Chipperfield ! The circus - a spectacular show featuring over 50 animals and about 40 artists, including clowns, trapeze acts, etc. is now in full swing on Clapham Common, there will be 2 shows daily until November 23rd. Mary herself stars in the show, she is the only lady wild animal trainer, and circus owner in the world, and she can be seen exercising her amazing command over the wildest most dangerous animals of all, the lions, leopards, and tigers. Mary's husband Roger Cawley, runs all the administrative side of the circus, and both Mary and Roger run Lord Bath's Safari Park (where the lions roam at will) at Longleat. Their daughter Suzanne, aged 4 adores the circus and spends all her time there, but David, aged 8 has to got to school
