Oct. 10, 1965 - The bride who keeps a tiges as a pet.: A bride stepped into a tiger's cage yesterday and was quickly followed by a bridesmaid. The bridesmaid was afraid that the bride's wedding gown might drag on the floor of the cage. But there were also fears that the billowing bridal veil worn by Mary Chipperfield, 27-year old member of the famous circus family, might upset her pet tiger. So the bride's father Mr. James Chipperfield, and her uncle, Mr. Richard Chipperfield, also entered the cage to look after Mary and her sister Margaret, the bridesmaid. Mary had insisted on seeing her two-year old tiger Suki before being married at Bassett, SOuthampton. And Suki was on her best behaviour - she didn't object to the visit at all. After the wedding, Mary and her 30-year old husband, Mr. Roger Cawley, left for a honeymoon in Gibraltar and Casablanca.
