1968 - Members Of The Sherlock Holmes Society Off To Switzerland: About forty Victorian ladies and Gentlemen, wearing to dress of 1891, sat down to a breakfast in one of London's newest buildings, the Swiss Centre, near Leicester Square this Morning They are members of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London who are about to set off on an week's tour of Switzerland in the foot-steps of their hero. Seventy-seven years ago, he and his faithful Warson, made a tour of the Rhone Valley which led then to Mairangon, the Reiokenback Falls and Holmes fateful last encounter with his arch-enemy Moriarty. After the breakfast, the party left Swiss Centre by Whitbread nHorse-drawn Drays from they transfered to coaches which took them to London Airport. Photo shows.
