May 05, 1969 - Italy's National Airline's Contribution To The 50 Years Of Flying Atlantic Air Race: Alitalia the Italian National Airline are putting a novel twist to their entry in the Daily Mail Atlantic Air Race by using a Chariot for the London part of the epic journey. The chariot is being piloted by Anne Buckhurst of Surrey, and the Tribune passenger is Michael Wellings of the company's passenger Sales Staff. Michael, who competes for the company in the race which is on next Tuesday - went for a trial run through the London traffic today in his Chariot.
