Feb. 25, 1969 - The Man from La Mancha'.. comes to Vienna! Josef Weinrad, Iffland ring wearer and actor can be seen for the first time on February 28 on a Munich stage. He plays the title roll in the musical The Man from La Mancha, based on the world-famous novel by Cervantes. The piece doesn't play out in freedom. Cervantes, who had issues with the Inquisition, was thrown in prison. Questionable shapes flock together in the cell in order to seize the belongings of the newcomer. He gladly sacrifices everything if they would only leave him his manuscript.the completed Don Quixote novel. He was allowed to keep his literary work and eventually asked the prisoners whether they wanted to act it out.Then they develop the piece out of the manuscript
