Ballet - Circus - Comedians - Dancers - Entertainers - Plays

Feb. 02, 1972 - Dancing - not in the rain - but in a T.V. studio: Two great stars of the entertainment world get together for the first time, veteran singer and dancer G Kelly and our own Tommy Stelle, the tousle-haired kid from Bermondsey who twenged his way to the top with his quitar. And he will stay there because he is thoroughly professional in his approach to the business. He never intended to stay in showbings but, he said, a funny thing happened. I fell in love with the job'. And so he decided to make a go of it. Since then he has toured, starred in top cabarot and films, met the Royal Family and even did a strength play at that shrine of drama, the Old Vic. And now this lively cockney with his infectious grin is packing in the audience in New York with his show Half a sixpence. Photo shows Tommy Steele and Gene Kelly rehearsing for a colour TV show which will be seen on American C.B.S. TV in February 1966 and later that year British audience will get a chance of seeing this partnership on British TV in black and white only
