Jul. 01, 1981 - Romans play director sent for trial: Michael Bogdanov, director of the national theater play The Romans in Britain, is to be tried at the Old Bailery on a charge of procuring an act of gross indecency. Mrs. Mary Whitehouse, the anti pornography campaigner, is bringing a private prosecution under the sexual offenses act. She claims that a scene in the controversial play showing simulated homosexual rape was gross indecency. Mrs. Whitehouse has decided to bring the prosecution after her request to prosecute under the theater act was refused by both the director of public prosecutions and the Attorney General. The play, which was staged at the Oliviar theater last year, tells the story of the Roman occupation of Britain. Photo Shows A scene from the controversial play
