Bands - Composers - Instruments - Musicians
Mar. 11, 1953 - It's like a fairy tale..I still don't quite believe it. Pictured is 16 year old pianist Christa Schwarz, from Berlin. She informed reporters that she would be going on a grand tour through America the next month. She had only answered a newspaper ad requested a pianist out of fun. 71 year old tenor Carl Neumann, discovered and trained by American soldiers, was so enthused by her playing he immediately hired her. Now this duo of the youngest and oldest musical team will be on tour, which should last four to five years
