Mr. Bob Miller, 49, band leader of the Millermen, is hoisted by bosun's chair to carry out checks on halyards and blocks on the main mast of his sloop Mersea Pearl, at Yarmouth, Isle of Wight yesterday, in which he will take part in the Observer Singlehanded Transatalntic race, organized by the Royal Western Yacht Club, which begins on June 17 from Pymouth to Newport, Rhode Islands
