Bands - Composers - Instruments - Musicians

Jun. 06, 1989 - First Alphorn with fingerboard: Josef Stocker from Kriens, Canton of Lucerne, presented these days his invention, the first Swiss Alphorn with fingerboard. The Alphorn, usually able to produce only 15 different tunes, can be played like a trumpet with this fingerboard, offering the whole chromatic scale to its player. Photo shows Stocker (center) surrounded by musicians of Original Bernauer, folkloristic band from Lucerne
