Aug. 27, 1953 - Paris, France - BAO DAI (born Prince Nguyen Phuc Vinh Thuy) was the 13th and last ruler of the Nguyen Dynasty, and the last emperor to rule Vietnam. He served as king of Annam from 1926 until 1945 and as emperor of Vietnam from 1945 until 1949.
