Jul. 07, 1965 - The government last night got a majority of four in the vote on the White Paper to nationalise steel. With only seconds to go before the division, two Labour rebels, Mr. Woodrow Wyatt and Mr Desmond Donnelly-who had made it clear in speeches that they would abstain-switched their votes to the Government. The result was 310 for, and 306 against.
