BARBARA CASTLE LAUNCHES THE GOVERNMENT'S PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN ON THE NEW DRINKING AND DRIVING LAW: On October 9th. the new drink and driving provisions of the Road Safety Act 1967 come into force. Today, Mrs. Barbara Castle, Minister of Transport, launched one of the largest publicity campaigns sponsored by the Government on the subject of road safety, explaining the new law and the facts about the hazards of drinking and driving. She was speaking to an invited audience of the press and interested organizations at the Royal Festival Hall.
