Beauty - Beauty Pageants - Clothing

May 3, 1958 - London, England, United Kingdom - Model WENDY PETERS of West Byfleet was elected as the new Miss England 1958, to take the place of 16-year-old June Cooper of Sheffield, who resigned after her mother said she was too young. Mrs. Cooper, having seen the itinerary which her daughter would follow and the events such as cocktail parties which she would have to attend, decided she was too young. Mrs E MASSEY, of Havant Hants, shouted Its a fraud claiming Wendy was wearing a Waspie Corset beneath her swimsuit. Massey was removed from the platform.
