Nov 8, 1963 - London, England, United Kingdom - Miss Jamaica CAROLE JOAN CRAWFORD sits on her throne after winning the Miss World 1963 title. She is surrounded by L-R Miss Sweden Greta Quiberg who placed 5th, Miss Finland Marja-Liisa Stahlberg who placed 3rd, Miss New Zealand Elaine Miscall who placed 2nd, and Miss Denmark Aino Korva who placed 4th. At age 20, the 53 (1.59 m) beauty, short by Miss World standards, made history by becoming the first delegate from her country to win the title. The event was held at the Lyceum Ballroom in London. Jamaica Post issued a stamp of her face in honour of Crawford winning the Miss World title, which had an issue of three million stamps. She later moved to Canada and married.
