Jan. 01, 1952 - Armoured vest issued to troops in Korea.: Armoured nylon vests weighing 8 1/2 lb. are helping to reduce British casualties on the Korean front. So far 1, 900 Commonwealth Division troops have been issued with them. General Sir Ouvry Roberts, Quarter Master General, who has just returned from a tour of Korea, said yesterday that although the vests - U.S. issue - are still under test, military authorities are convinced of their value.
